With 30 years in the financial services industry under his belt, Walters organizes his experience across three chapters: technology, risk management, and consumer lending and fintech partnerships. 

He’s on a mission to introduce fintech to banks and credit unions in a way that supports their process without undermining what they’ve built traditionally, and co-hosting Leaders in Lending is a piece of that puzzle.

“The types of the conversations I want to have are with individuals who are not afraid to be bold, that are not afraid to challenge the norm and introduce new things in their organization,” he said. 

Roach has seen many sides of finance across his 30 years in financial services and serving as CEO of two credit unions. The hunger for a new challenge — and a passion for technological advances — led him to Upstart.

“I love hearing the perspective of others in financial services, and what their feelings are about either the economy or the markets at the time, or where technology is heading,” Roach said, on what he’s most excited about in this new co-hosting position. 

Megrey’s background consists of 15 years in the consumer lending space, starting as a credit analyst and fast forwarding to CEO of a credit union in Northeast Ohio. Megrey now works as a Senior Account Manager at Upstart alongside Barry Roach. 

“It's going to be exciting to discuss more in-depth the trends in the credit union space with other executive leaderships outside of those partnered with Upstart, alongside seeing how the dynamic of the show is going to evolve with having multiple personalities as different hosts,” said Megrey.  

From increased automation to enhanced personalization, Sautter Beal has seen it all in her role as Vice President of Lender Services, and she now brings that expertise to Leaders in Lending.

Sautter Beal has been in the financial services industry for over 25 years and started at a brokerage firm. From there, she moved into institutional trading and eventually landed at JP Morgan, implementing federal reserve guidance. 

“I'm most excited to have some partners on, or lenders, that want to think about things like, ‘How can we help better support your program? What are you seeing in best practices around post-launch support from other Fintech providers? And so on,” she said.

Snow holds degrees in math, finance, and statistics, and spent a lot of time at larger banks in retail marketing, loss forecasting, and more - all of which led him to solutions consulting at Upstart.

He looks forward to co-hosting the podcast through dynamic interviews and collaboration.

“What's exciting about this format is just learning from each other,” he said. “Coming into it with an open mind to see what topics are concerning to our partners, as well as getting a little deeper into data infrastructure technology.”
